About the course:
Migration is a global
phenomenon that affects almost all countries in the
world, especially women. For women, going abroad means
working as domestic helpers, nurses, entertainers and
caregivers, all gender-defined occupations. However,
limited these choices are and all the risks and challenges
that working abroad may pose to women migrants, thousands
have chosen to take the migration route as a family
survival strategy.
Aside from higher wage and salary levels,
women are primarily driven by a strong familial duty
to help children, parents and siblings improve their
quality of life. The feminization of migration has spawned
both positive and negative results.
