Women's human rights advocacy in the country took a step forward when women leaders from government and nongovernment sectors met early this year to formalize a network of women advancing the implementation of the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. Philippines set to report on CEDAW

The Philippines is set to present its combined 5th and 6th periodic reports to the thirty-sixth session of the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, United States. The session will be held from 07 to 25 August 2006.
